You probably won't need your car anyway as we are situated only five minutes walking distance away from the centre of the town. We are well situated for visiting all of the town's main attractions including; St Andrews University, the British Golf Museum, the Botanic Gardens, Aquarium, Castle, Cathedral and the old harbour. We are only a 10 minute walk away from the famous St Andrews Old Course ~ the Home of Golf !
The Attractions
The world famous Links Golf courses include the famous St. Andrews Old Course, and five other Links courses. Although most famous for it's golf courses, the Town of St Andrews has a lot more to offer the visitor other than the traditional battle between men and women over the "Wee White Ball".
The Local BeachesThe West Sands Beach The East Sands Beach It has a tiny harbour from which fishing boats sail, mainly to catch lobsters and other shellfish. It is thought that the pier is very likely built with stones from the ruins of the nearby cathedral. The pier was repaired in 2003 after several years of closure, it is now fully accessible to the public again and is about 20 minutes walk away from Braeside House.
The Parks and Gardens The Botanic Gardens are known as "the hidden gem" and are only a 5 minutes
walk from us. Craigton Country Park Lots to do and see. About a mile to the west of the town Craigton Park has excellent facilities for Adults and children. Boating, a miniature railway, children's play area, crazy golf and bowling are only a few of the many attractions. There is also a restaurant and cafe. Kinburn Park offers the visitor, tennis, bowling and putting and is a 10-minute walk from Braeside House and very close to St Andrews town centre. The British Golf Museum. A visit to the British Golf museum is a must for golfers and non-golfers alike. The Museum tells the story of golf from its beginnings to the present day. The players, tournaments and equipment, both past and present, which help to make golf the game it is today.
Shopping AreasThe main shopping areas are in Market Street and South Street, with Bell Street and Church Street connecting the two. These are only a few minutes walk from Braeside House . You should take the time to explore our town, take pleasure at the surprises and delights you will come across. The shops here are many and varied, of the highest quality. Also, there are many excellent coffee houses and restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Scottish food.
